So.. this place is lame.. Monterey is a sleepy old town with nothing going on.. Pacific Grove specifically, is a town with absolutely nothing going on… No good coffee shops, no good bars, minimal good resturaunts. Our goal is to move to SF eventually as we love that city!If anyone reads this, post some thoughts.

OMG .. so L and I got psudo physicals for our life insurance yesterday and they needed blood samples. So I am getting my blood taken, and I don’t like that in the first place, but once she does it.. it hurts.. I’m like wtf.. I’ve had this done plenty of times before, and it’s never fun.. but this time it actually hurts.. So, it’s over, I’m keeping pressure on my puncture hole and after about 5 min I look down at it and it’s a big bump. OMG.. seriously? So I show her and she says that I have gotten a hematoma from it.. Well, so I have this hematoma and it is painful .. for about 3 hours. Basically what I’m getting at is that this lady was not very good at taking blood and I’ve got the hematoma to prove it. What can I expect though from a service that comes to your house and does this under the insurance companies budget.

what’s going on here.. um, well… Started semester yesterday. The school isn’t great, but it’s school (another one). I’ll be able to get more classes I need out of the way. I’m just excited to get into a program somewhere. Lizzie mentioned today that I should apply for Stanford.. we’ll see how that goes.

I also learned that you cannot use styles on craigslist.. it strips them it seems. I think that’s probably best, otherwise it’d turn into a myspace / ebay mashup and would look like shit.

I’m stoked for my brother to come out here, but that means we actually have to clean the house and finish putting our stuff away. We’ve been living in shambles since I got here, probably good that he’s coming so it forces us to finish putting the boxes away.

The old G4 Titanium Powerbook 667Mhz w/ 1 Gig RAM finally died today. The screen went out :/. Kinda sucks cause now Lizzie doesn’t have a laptop to use. Oh well… I’m trying to craigslist a bunch of stuff and see if I can get enough for a new one. Then she can have my 17″. She doesn’t seem to care much as to what machine she uses so that’s nice. It would be nice to be able to get her a little black macbook though. I think she’d love that. I also want a new iMac for the desktop. I’m trying to sell my box that Intel gave me. We’ll see how that goes too.

I am stoked though, I sold a few old books and now I have some money in my paypal acct. My buddy todd know’s someone who works at Ogio so he’s hooking me up w/ a new golf bag for cost. Stoked!! Here’s a link to it, it’s the Tweed / Khaki one. Thanks Todd! :]

I don’t know what it is. but suddenly today, I feel like my thoughts are coming together. I just came up w/ a great idea for a new site.. now to sketch it out :] w00t..

Don’t you hate it when you’re doing work for a client and it seems as if they don’t even care or appreciate it. I can understand that when it’s a normal client, and they are paying regular fees. It gets me when it’s not a normal situation, say a friend or relative or something, and you’re doing them a favor and you get no feedback other than changes. No “The site looks good!” or “Thanks, I appreciate your work” or anything. I think I’m done doing favors, it’s not worth it.

What is acceptable here. I know I can’t wear cut-offs and I can’t wear jeans.. and I don’t have much else. So I’m wondering what is kinda steeze and yet ‘golf acceptable’..

GAAAAAAAAAAAAH.. so, I’m just about to get into the CS program at the U of Utah .. and we move.. lame, but necessary.. no biggie. The shitty part is the fact that I get here thinking that I can just transfer to UCSC (UC Santa Cruz). Wrong answer.. It turns out that I have to take more classes at a community college, then (on my own) figure out which classes will transfer from all of my many schools and then apply to the school. But not only to the school, directly into the major because transfer students can’t transfer to the school without going directly into the program. Then, if I mess up on my guessing of which classes will transfer, I won’t be accepted into the program and cannot re-apply to it. I feel like they are trying to drive transfer students away… how lame.

The other shitty part is that I was accepted into the community college here but not as a resident (I’ve only been here 2 months, I understand) so instead of the $20 / unit that a resident pays, I have to pay $200 / unit.. omg.. that’s $800 for a 4 credit course vs $80.. wtf.. *cry*

So.. I’m sitting here and I noticed that there’s a new Handbrake out and it’s got iPhone support. SO, I go download it and it’s plenty sweet. While doing that I also notice that there is a windows version of Handbrake available (there wasn’t last I checked) so I snag that as well. Now, Intel hooked me up w/ a sweet machine but I LOVE my mac but unfortunately there is a huge performance difference. I get the wheels in motion to encode my DVD copy of Live Free or DieHard on my mac and notice that it’s going to take 13 hrs. This is a long time, so I get it going on my pc just for curiousity’s sake and I then notice it’s going to take 30 min.. WTF .. this brings me to my point that I need a new laptop!!!
